INDO-SKYTHIANS, Paratarajas. Koziya, circa 235-255. Drachm (Bronze, 16 mm, 1.72 g). Draped and diademed bust of Koziya to left. Rev. KOZIYASA KOZANAPUTRASA PARATARAJASA ('of Koziya, son of Kozana, king of the Paratas' in Kharoshti) around swastika. Pieper 804. Tandon 48. Attractive earthen highlights on a dark patina. Very fine.

From a collection of coins from Central Asia.

The Paratarajas were an Indo-Parthian dynasty that ruled in modern-day Baluchistan. Senior reads Koziya's name as Spajhama, but this reading has since been corrected by Tandon.
